Mindful UK:
- Provides a directory and matching platform for therapists and clients.
- Facilitates communication and appointment enquiries.
- Maintains website security and data protection standards.
- Supports accessibility to mental health services.
Mindful UK does not:
- Provide therapy, counselling, psychological treatment, or medical advice.
- Supervise, manage, or control therapists' clinical practice.
- Diagnose mental health conditions.
- Guarantee therapeutic outcomes.
- Act as an employer, agency, or representative of any therapist listed on the platform.
All therapists operate as independent professionals and are solely responsible for the services they provide.
Therapist Responsibility
Every therapist listed on Mindful UK is responsible for:
- Maintaining appropriate qualifications and professional registrations where applicable.
- Holding valid professional indemnity insurance.
- Complying with professional, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
- Managing client records in accordance with applicable laws.
- Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding obligations.
- Delivering services in a competent and professional manner.
Therapists remain fully accountable for their professional conduct and the services they provide.
Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for:
- Ensuring that any therapist selected meets their individual needs.
- Providing accurate information when engaging with a therapist.
- Reviewing any agreements, policies, fees, and terms provided by the therapist.
- Raising concerns directly with the therapist in the first instance.
Clients should exercise their own judgment when selecting a therapist and are encouraged to verify qualifications and credentials where appropriate.
Independent Professional Relationship
Once a client chooses to engage with a therapist, the therapeutic relationship exists solely between the client and the therapist.
Mindful UK is not a party to:
- Therapy agreements.
- Treatment plans.
- Clinical decisions.
- Payment arrangements made directly between therapists and clients.
- Professional disputes between therapists and clients.
Any contractual, professional, ethical, or clinical relationship is established exclusively between the client and the therapist.
Complaints and Disputes
Should a dispute, disagreement, complaint, or claim arise between a client and a therapist, both parties are expected to seek resolution directly with one another.
Mindful UK cannot mediate, arbitrate, or accept liability for:
- The quality of therapeutic services provided.
- Clinical advice or treatment recommendations.
- Appointment cancellations.
- Therapist conduct.
- Client conduct.
- Financial disputes between clients and therapists.
Where appropriate, complaints regarding professional conduct should be directed to the therapist's relevant professional body, regulator, insurer, or governing organisation.
Limitation of Liability
Mindful UK acts solely as a technology platform connecting clients and therapists.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mindful UK shall not be liable for:
- Any loss, damage, injury, claim, or dispute arising from therapy services.
- Clinical outcomes or treatment effectiveness.
- Advice, recommendations, or opinions provided by therapists.
- Professional negligence claims against therapists.
- Emotional, financial, physical, or psychological harm arising from services provided by independent therapists.
- Any actions or omissions of therapists or clients.
Responsibility for all therapeutic services rests solely with the therapist providing those services and the client receiving them.
Nothing within this statement excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by applicable UK law.
Safeguarding
Mindful UK takes safeguarding seriously and encourages all therapists using the platform to maintain appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures.
